Recently there’s been a resurgence of ‘old web’ idealism in the cloud of folks I’m following. This is mostly evident in simpler static websites, but things like Webrings and button links are coming back as well. I decided to get in on the action by making my own (crappy) little link button for this site.
I made it pixel by pixel in Aseprite, which was a fun process. No outside fonts or anything, it’s all from my own silly brain.
I couldn’t decide what background to use so I made a few and then animated it with a glitchy little loop that felt cool when I was making it.
Feel free to use it whenever you link here, because I know you’ve all been dying to link here.
Yep. All of you.
Let me know how it looks or what I should do differently, throw me notes in the usual places.
Update (3 hours later): I spent some time learning how to actually fix my theme so I can add buttons to the sidebar. You should be able to see the ones I made for both this website and firetribe.org there now.
Do you have a cool button I should be adding to my website? Let me know!
